The single-layer fusible epoxy powder anti-corrosion steel pipe's fusible epoxy powder, also known as thermosetting epoxy resin heavy-duty anti-corrosion powder, is a solid material that is transported and dispersed with air as the carrier. When it is applied to the surface of preheated steel products, it melts, flows and cures to form a uniform coating for anti-corrosion, which is a heavy-duty anti-corrosion coating formed at high temperatures. This coating has the advantages of simple application operation, no pollution, good impact and bending resistance of the coating, and high temperature resistance.
Fusion-bonded epoxy powder classification
1) According to the application method, it can be classified as: powder for spraying inside pipes, powder for spraying outside pipes, and universal powder for both inside and outside pipes. The powder used for external spraying of pipelines is further classified into: single-layer powder, double-layer powder, and three-layer structure anti-corrosion powder.
2) According to their uses, they can be classified as: powder for oil and gas pipelines, powder for drinking water pipelines, powder for fire protection pipelines, powder for anti-static ventilation pipelines in coal mines, powder for chemical pipelines, powder for oil drill pipes, powder for pipe fittings, powder for ship pipelines, and powder for high-salt water heavy-duty anti-corrosion pipelines, etc.
3) According to the curing conditions, it can be divided into two types: rapid curing and ordinary curing. The curing conditions for fast-curing powder are generally 230℃ for 0.5 to 2 minutes. It is mainly used for external spraying of pipelines or three-layer anti-corrosion structures. Due to its short curing time and high production efficiency, it is suitable for assembly line operations. The curing conditions for common curing powder are generally 230℃ for more than 5 minutes. Due to the long curing time and good coating leveling, it is suitable for spraying inside pipelines.
Anti-corrosion methods for fusion-bonded epoxy powder:
The main methods include: electrostatic spraying method, thermal spraying method, suction method, fluidized bed method, roller coating method, etc. The coating inside the pipeline is generally carried out by friction electrostatic spraying, suction or thermal spraying. All these spraying methods share a common feature: before spraying, the workpiece needs to be preheated to a certain temperature so that the powder melts immediately upon contact. The residual heat should enable the coating film to continue flowing, further leveling and covering the entire surface of the steel pipe, especially in the depressions on the surface of the steel pipe and on both sides of the weld seam. The molten coating flows in to fill and level, ensuring a tight bond between the coating and the steel pipe and minimizing pores. And the curing process should be terminated by cooling with water within the specified time.
